What Is The National Government Type of Ireland?

Ireland is a parliamentary democracy. Ireland has two Houses of Government; Representatives (Dáil Éireann) and Senate (Seanad Éireann). The head of the government is called Taoiseach and the deputy prime minister is called Tánaiste.

There are 166 members in the Dail who are elected. Elections are held every 5 years. The main political parties represented in Dail are Sinn Féin and Fianna Fáil.Seanad has 60 members in which 11 are nominated by Taoiseach. The other members are elected by national universities.
