National Mosque of Bangladesh

Baitul Mukarram Mosque is the National Mosque of Bangladesh. Its construction began in early 1960 and had been completed in phases.

It’s located at the meeting point of Old and New Dhaka in the heart of the city. The site was also in close proximity to all the central business district of the city.

The mosque is made in its modern architectural style. The design of the mosque is a white and almost cube-form for the main building without a dome over the roof of its main prayer hall.

The main building is eight storied with a huge complex, which includes shops, offices, libraries and parking areas. This is also a crowded area in Dhaka city.
