Red Pine is the State Tree of Minnesota. Pinus resinosa is the scientific name of Red Pine and it is commonly known as Southern Red Pine. It is also known as long straw pine, yellow pine, southern yellow pine, swamp pine, hard or heart pine, pitch pine, and Georgia pine. Pinus are the genus of the Red Pine and P. resinosa is its species. The Minnesota’s State tree Red Pine is belongs from the family of Pinaceae, which is commonly native to North America. It happens from Newfoundland west to Manitoba, and south to Pennsylvania, with more than a few smaller, disjunction populations occurring in the Appalachian Mountains in Virginia and West Virginia, as well as several pockets in excessive northern New Jersey and northern Illinois.   • Fruits:  The fruits of Red Pine called ‘cone’. There are two types of cone have the pine trees, which one for generates pollen and another for develop and dropping the seeds. The cones are proportionately ovoid; its size is in between 4–6 cm long and 2.5 cm wide. The fruits have been matured in the period of August to October.
