Plano is a city in Collin and Denton Counties, Texas, in the United States. The population was 285,494 according to the 2020 census. It is a major city in the Dallas-Fort Worth metropolitan area. Plano is part of the larger metropolitan area known as the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex.
