National Flag Of Cameroon

The National Flag Of Cameroon was officially adopted and hoisted On May 20, 1975, After Cameroon Became a Unitary State. The design of the Cameroon flag consists of three equal vertical bands of green red, and yellow with one yellow star in the center of the red stripe. The Cameroon National Flag uses the traditional Pan-African colors and the pattern of the flag recalls the French Tricolor.

In the mid-20th century, Cameroon was a territory under France supervised by the United Nations. After it was promised independence, the government of Cameroon began discussing a possible National Flag Of Cameroon in 1957. The members of the legislature favored a simple flag of three equal vertical stripes, a design inspired by the French Tricolor. Cameroon decided to use green-red-yellow color on their flag. The first use of the current Flag Of Cameroon design was in 1957. The last change to the current Cameroonian flag design was in 1975.
