Liaoning is a province of the People’s Republic of China. It is located in the northeastern part of the country. Map of Liaoning Province covers an area of over 150,000 square kilometers. Liaoning Province shares borders with the Yellow Sea (Korea Bay) and the Bohai Gulf in the south, North Korea to the southeast, Jilin to the northeast, Hebei to the west, and Inner Mongolia to the northwest. The Yalu River marks the province’s border with North Korea, emptying into the Korea Bay between Dandong in Liaoning and Sinuiju in North Korea. The Province often called ‘the Golden Triangle’ because of its superior geographical location.

Liaoning Province has a temperate, continental-type monsoon climate, with the mean temperature of the year being 6ºC to 11ºC (42.8 ºF to 51.8 ºF). The minimum temperature in January, the coldest month, can be as low as -30ºC ( -22 ºF) while the maximum temperature can reach as high as 35ºC ( 95 ºF) in July, the hottest month in the year.
