Canada Day Is The National Day of Canada. Canada day has a few names in the past. It used to be called Dominion day also Confederation day. Canada Day celebrates the birthday of Canada. On July 1st, 1867, Canada became a country with its own constitution, which is also called the British North America Act. The British North America act said that Canada will become an independent territory. Canada’s formal name is Dominion over Canada and that’s why a lot of older citizens call July first Dominion Day.
