What is The National Flag of Brazil?

The National flag of Brazil (Portuguese: Bandeira do Brasil) is a blue celestial globe depicting a starry sky spanned by a curved white equatorial band with the national Motto ORDEM E PROGRESSO (Order and Progress) inscribed, within a yellow rhombus, on a green field.

The green background represents Brazil’s forest, the yellow diamond represents the gold, but also both of them represents Habsburg (Empress Leopoldina) and Royal Houses of Bragança (Emperor Pedro I).

The blue circle stands for the sky of Rio de Janeiro; each of the starts represents the 27 Brazilian states and the Federal District. The slogan on the middle of the blue circle means “Order and Progress”, and it came from the Auguste Comte, a French Philosopher.
