What Is The National Memorial of England?

National Memorial Arboretum Is The National Memorial of England. David Childs came up with the idea to have a big memorial (to honour soldiers who died) in 1988.

It finally opened in 2001 and is a registered charity and is part of the Royal British Legion.
This memorial is to acknowledge the lives lost and brutally tortured of the prisoners of war in the making of the Burma Railway.

It is located in Alrewas, which is just under 27 miles from school. It has an area of 150 acres.
