What is The National Mountain of Ireland?

Carrantuohill in co. Kerry is Ireland’s highest mountain standing at 1,038 m or 3,406 ft. It is the central peak of the Macgillycuddy’s Reeks range and is topped by a large metal cross.

It is classed as a ‘furth’ by the Scottish Mountaineering Club which is a mountain over 3000 feet tall but is often referred to as one of the Irish Munros.

Beenkeragh or Benkeeragh is the second-highest mountain peak in Ireland, at 1,008.2 meters (3,308 ft) high (Some sources cite 1,010 m).
