National Museum of Brazil is The biggest biological and natural collection in Brazil, with more than 9 million items, started by D. Pedro II and now belonged to Rio de Janeiro Federal University (UFRJ).

This museum is located at a beautiful very important 200 yo building that belonged to the Brazilian monarchy and has an incredible collection of items over 4 thousand years old.

In the area of education, the museum offers specializations, extension and post-graduation courses in several fields of the knowledge, in addition to hosting temporary and permanent exhibitions and educational activities open to the general public
