What is The National Religion of England?

England today is very religiously diverse, even more so than the United States. Even though the majority of society identifies as Christian, there are still dozens of other religious groups, such as Islam, Judaism, and Buddhism, that are widespread.

Even in the last decade religion has become even more diverse, as this chart shows. Christianity is the most highly represented Religion in England.

In 2011, 59.4 percent of the British population identified as Christian. According to the 2011 Census, 2.7 million
Muslims live in England where they form 5.0% of the population.
