Football is by far the most popular sport in Egypt and the Egyptian national football team called the “Pharaohs” has taken home the African Cup of Nations a total of seven times which includes a three-peat performance in 2006, 2008 and 2010.
Without a doubt, this is why they are considered as the most successful among the African national teams and one of the few African national teams that reached a single-digit ranking in FIFA (9th). Football is not the only popular sport in Egypt though. They also love playing tennis and squash.
