August temperatures were above average across the West Coast, Southwest, and from the Plains to the East Coast. Vermont and New Hampshire both had their warmest August on record while Maine and Massachusetts ranked second warmest. In the month of August, the weather is perfect in the United States, but only in a few cities: in Hollywood, Santa Monica, Napa Valley, San Francisco, Moab, Seattle, Santa Barbara, Salem, Reno, Los Angeles (California), San Diego, Portland, Salt Lake City, and Lake Tahoe. In these places, all the conditions are met for enjoying a maximum trip: the sun is guaranteed, precipitations are scarce and the humidity is not too high. It is, therefore, the ideal month to visit these cities!
