We all live in different time zones. As a result, time is always different in various places on the planet. When it is noon in Dhaka, it is midnight in New York. The reason for this is that we divide the Earth into different time zones. Within each time zone, people need to set their clock for the same time. Division of Time

There are 24 different time zones, separated by one-hour intervals with each 15 degrees longitude. Time zones are measured according to the Greenwich Mean Time used as the starting meridian, which is measured in hours before and after GMT. The official time standard that regulates the world’s time and clocks is called Coordinated Universal Time (UTC). It replaced the Greenwich Mean Time (GMT) in the late 1960s, even though GMT remains today as a regional time zone at UTC+00:00.

Irregular Time Zones

Some governments make local time zones decisions that deviate from the norm. Note that India is +5½ from UTC, while Myanmar (Burma) is +6½, Iran is +4½, Iraq is +3½, Nepal is +5¾ and Central Australia is +9½. Time Offset and Time Zones

A time offset is the amount of time added to or subtracted from UTC. In other words, the time zone map indicates positive or negative offsets from UTC, using the codes UTC- or UTC+ and the corresponding number of hours and minutes. For instance, at UTC±00, you'll find the United Kingdom; at UTC+14:00, you'll get Kiribati's Line Islands.

Daylight Saving Time Zones

The time when the clock is moved forward is called Daylight Saving Time (DST). The terms "summer" or "daylight" are subsequently included in the name while the local time is typically set forward one hour. This practice is meant to increase the span of the evening daylight while giving up the usual sunrise times. However, different countries do not adhere to DST including Peru, Indonesia, and Western Australia, most of Africa, Japan, Australia's Northern Territory, and Argentina.
