The Flag Of Saint Kitts And Nevis Was Officially Adopted On 19 September 1983 to replace the flag of Saint Christopher-Nevis-Anguilla. It has been the flag of the Federation of Saint Kitts and Nevis since the country gained independence that year. The National Flag Of Saint Kitts And Nevis is composed of a sheet, which is divided by a black diagonal stripe into a green and a red field.

In addition, the black stripe is framed by narrower yellow stripes and it also bears two white five-pointed stars. A competition for a new national flag was launched And the winning contribution was designed by Edrice Lewis.

History Of The Flag

Saint Christopher (Saint Kitts), Nevis, and Anguilla were united as a single British colony in 1882. From 1958 until 1962 they formed a unit of the (British) Federation of the West Indies. At midnight September 18–19, 1983, when the federation received its independence from Britain, the renamed Saint Kitts and Nevis hoisted a new National Flag Of Saint Kitts And Nevis, which it continues to use.
