National Flag Of Solomon Islands

The National Flag Of Solomon Islands was officially adopted On 18 November 1977, One year before the country gained independence from Britain. The Flag Of Solomon Islands is composed of blue and green sections, where the fields are separated by a yellow diagonal stripe. In the upper left part of the blue box, white five-pointed stars are located.

The Solomon Islands National Flag was designed by a New Zealander who was a Visual Arts Master at the school from 1974-1978. The flag was adopted to replacing the British Blue Ensign defaced with the arms of the British Solomon Islands Protectorate.

In 1893, Britain declared the Solomon Islands as a British protectorate and introduced typical British colonial flags. In anticipation of independence, many flags were designed for the country, including one with the coat of arms. Finally, a simple pattern was chosen as the Solomon Islands National Flag and officially adopted on November 18, 1977, eight months before independence.
