On February 24, 1866, the fledgling Nevada Legislature officially changed the National Motto Of Nevada on the seal to “All for Our Country,” replacing the territorial motto “Willing and Able.” By law, the Nevada State Motto appears near the bottom of the state seal of Nevada on a yellow band surrounded by 36 stars. the stars signify Nevada’s place as the 36th state to join the Union.
