What is The National Flag of Egypt?

The Flag of Egypt is a tricolor consisting of a Red, white, and black band. The national symbol, the Eagle of Saladin is centered in the white band.

The three bands are from the Arab Liberation flag which dates back to the time of the Egyptian Revolution of 1952. The Color Red represents the struggle against the British occupation of Egypt (the period before 1952).

Black stands for the end of the oppression of the people of Egypt at the hands of the Monarchy and British colonialism (after 1952). The Color White symbolizes the advent of the 1952 Revolution which ended the Monarchy without
bloodshed.
