What Is The National Bird of Brazil?
Brazil’s National Bird is the Rufous-bellied thrush or the Sabiá-laranjeira in Portuguese. It was chosen for this position in 2003 because of the “popularity that it exerts in the Brazilian culture and folklore”.
In other words, it was chosen because it features prominently in Brazilian literature, myths, and songs. On top of that, it is also a very widespread and adaptable species, being found in forests and urban areas alike.
