American architect Edward Durell Stone was commissioned by the Pakistan government to design three of Islamabad’s most important buildings: the seat of the President

the Parliament, and the Cabinet. Inspired by Frank Lloyd Wright, his design ironically emphasizes horizontal alignment and is free from all traditional stylistic elements.
