What is The National Awards of Canada?

Admission to the Order of Merit (French: Ordre du Mérite) is the highest civilian award for merit in Canada. Founded in 1902 by King Edward VII to recognize distinguished service in the armed forces, science, art, literature, or for the promotion of culture. The Order of Canada is the country’s second-highest civilian honor for merit and is administered by the Governor-General-in-Council, on behalf of the monarch of Canada
