Qatar is a Western Asian country that is one of the seven nations that make up the Arabian Peninsula. It is located in the Middle East. Physical Map of Qatar occupies 11,437 km2 (4,416 sq mi) on a peninsula that extends approximately 160 km (99 mi) north into the Persian Gulf from the Arabian Peninsula. Saudi Arabia to the south is the only country it shares its land border with. All of Qatar is surrounded by the Gulf of Persia. The Gulf of Bahrain separates Qatar from the Kingdom of Bahrain.

A range of low limestone outcroppings which runs from the north-south direction from Zikrit to the southern border is the feature of this range. Qatar’s main onshore oil deposits are located in the Jebel Dukhan area. To the northwest of the country lie the natural gas resources. It holds very great significance because of its resources of natural gas.
