The Murray River – One of the Longest Rivers in Australia by Length
The River Murray is the longest river in the Australia River Map with a flow of 1,476 miles. It is located in New South Wales and South Australia, and it forms part of the border that separates New South Wales and Victoria. After the Nile and Amazon rivers, Murray ranks third among the world’s longest navigable rivers.

The Darling River is the third-longest river in Australia, measuring 1,472 kilometers (915 mi). It is a tributary to the River Murray. The quality of Darling’s water has been declining owing to pollution as well as overuse.
Lachlan River – 1339 km
The Lachlan River is the principal tributary of the Murrumbidgee River. It runs through the state of South Wales and flows to a length of 1,450 kilometers. When in flood, it connects to the famous Murray-Darling Basin along with the Murrumbidgee River.
Cooper Creek River – 1113 km
The fifth-longest river in the River Map of Australia is Cooper Creek, which runs 808 miles through Queensland and South Australia. Its mouth is located at Lake Eyre in South Australia. After the Murray-Darling system, the Cooper Creek is the continent’s second-longest inland river system.
